A big well done to Oxford Hoops U16 National League team who notched up their first win in the League beating Reading Rockets 80-58 a week last Saturday. Neither Oxford Brookes University teams were in action last week, but looking forward Division One Women, looking for their first win of the season on Sunday vs Southwark Pride, while the men are playing Essex Blades in the next round of the National Shield. No such luck for the Oxford Stealers who were knocked out of the Shield on Saturday by the Birmingham Mets. Eagles Get Back to Winning Ways and Oxford Brookes Men Post a Win
Abingdon Eagles' National League teams got back to winning ways, with their U14s taking an easy win 95-67 but it was much closer for the U16s who fought hard to come away 67-54 victors. Oxford Hoops U14 posted a big win on Saturday against the seemingly beleaguered Shropshire Warriors who are languishing at the bottom of the Midlands West League. However, the win means that Hoops now top that League with 3 wins and 1 loss this season. Sorry we didn't manage our weekend round-up earlier but better late than never. So, how did our Oxfordshire teams get on? Oxford Hoops juniors are still seeing mixed fortunes. The U14s had a good win away at Northants Thunder, who are currently top of the League 76-81 - so well done boys, while the U16s went down to North Herts Knights 85-91. The U18s game was postponed. Keeping up their winning ways, Abingdon Eagles U16 National Leaguers easily beat MK Trojans in the National Cup and look forward to a tough game in Round 3 vs Premier League team Oakland Wolves on Sunday.
