Eagles Get Back to Winning Ways and Oxford Brookes Men Post a Win

Abingdon Eagles' National League teams got back to winning ways, with their U14s taking an easy win 95-67 but it was much closer for the U16s who fought hard to come away 67-54 victors. They are now 2nd in the South 1 league. Game reports can be found here.

Over at Hoops, the U14s game vs Birmingham was postponed while the U16s are still looking for their first win.

Coach Franky reports:

"Oxford Hoops U16 are searching for that victory and they found themselves without key players. This would only make the task at hand even harder. However, there’s no doubt that the players and the team keep improving, the question is whether they are able to deliver that much anticipated W at home." Game report can be found here.

Oxford Brookes Men posted a win away vs Barking Abbey 51-67, while the Women are searching for that elusive first win, going down in the National Cup with a close game ending 72-78 at home to the Cardiff Met Archers.

Oxford Stealers Men in Division 4 also posted a loss 90-57 away to the Huish Taunton Tigers.

This week we are pleased to see another local derby as tomorrow night (Wednesday 31st October), the Hoops Blazers take on the newly-formed Abingdon Eagles Mens team. It is great to see new teams emerging in the region and joining in the spirit of Oxfordshire basketball!
