With our celebration of women's basketball last week, we have 2 weeks of scores to catch up on. Let's begin. A big well done to Oxford Hoops U16 National League team who notched up their first win in the League beating Reading Rockets 80-58 a week last Saturday. Women's basketball thriving in Oxfordshire - Witney vs Abingdon Jets
It's not all about the men and boys here in Oxfordshire. A number of our clubs run training and games for girls and women! This week, in an exciting game, Witney took on Abingdon Jets. Both teams were hungry for success and it was Abingdon's first game of the season. With end to end action and fast breaks, Witney eventually triumphed 56-40. Well done! Neither Oxford Brookes University teams were in action last week, but looking forward Division One Women, looking for their first win of the season on Sunday vs Southwark Pride, while the men are playing Essex Blades in the next round of the National Shield. No such luck for the Oxford Stealers who were knocked out of the Shield on Saturday by the Birmingham Mets.
